At Truly Treats, a Devon wholesale bakery, we recently had the pleasure of supporting Westbank Community Health and Care volunteer appreciation event with a donation of our handmade scones and traybakes. As a local bakery that’s deeply invested in our community, we’re always looking for ways to give back, especially to those who dedicate their time and energy to helping others.
The Exminster-based charity relies on its incredible volunteers to provide essential health and wellbeing services throughout Devon, from supporting carers and isolated individuals to organising local community activities. Services such as Devon Carers, Westbank’s Neighbourhood Friends and Patient Transport services, the Community Cookery School, and Health Walks, wouldn’t be possible without the tireless dedication of their volunteers.
An afternoon tea-treat for the Devon community!
To celebrate their contributions, Westbank hosted an afternoon tea at their Healthy Living Centre, where their team enjoyed our Devon-made scones and traybakes, along with jam and cream from Exeter Vale Tesco. The event was filled with joy and gratitude, with entertainment from the Exminster Community Primary School choir and Exeter Community Folk Orchestra. Volunteers even received thank-you gifts from Exeter LUSH as a token of appreciation.
Pip Morrison, Westbank’s Volunteer Engagement Manager, shared just how important these volunteers are, noting, “Without their tireless hard work and dedication, our services could not provide the huge breadth of support to so many.”
As a Devon-based cake supplier, we feel honored to support the people who give so selflessly to our communities. If you’re looking for a wholesale bakery that’s passionate about quality and community, Truly Treats is here to support both your business and the people of Devon.
Thank you to Westbank’s wonderful volunteers - you’re an inspiration to us all!
